It is absolutely incredible what Apple can do that no one else can even dream of. If a product is good, it is an instant seller. If a product is bad, ‘you just have to hold it and use it to appreciate it’. Either way, they sell millions of devices how ridiculous a square mp3 player design was. It will be the same with the iPad. Rabid fan boys will buy two! One WIFI version and one 3G version. And they will defend their sick reasoning! They will swear why their life is incomplete without both! They will keep reciting a chant ‘You just have to hold it in your hand to appreciate it. It does not translate it” over and over again.
From a technical point of view, there is nothing stopping them from making it a multi-tasking. Just like their arrogance with cut-and-paste, they just know better than you; even the things you want! And yes, it is a gorgeous picture frame for $499! But, at $829, it is no longer a picture frame. They try to convince you that it is the best web browser! Imagine that! With out a flash player – a multi tasking issue, again – how can you claim that a browser that cannot view a half of world web sites is the best web browser? Media player? It is nothing but an XGA resolution! Not even 720P! Couldn’t they spend a few more dollars and buy a 1200×768 instead? 4:3 aspect in 2010 for a media player is ridiculous.
The only decent thing I can see is that it is a great game machine and a great ebook reader. I think, as a competition to the Kindle and PSP GO, it is a great toy. But, it is a toy. You can’t be serious about this extra thin maxipad thing.
If I were S.Jobs, I would 1. Put Multi tasking 2. Upgrade the resolution of the screen and 3. Put a Camera and 4. Get rid of the bezel. I would buy that version 2.0
